Home Education at Betteshanger Country Park

Learn, Explore, Grow – Together in the Great Outdoors

At Betteshanger Park, we believe that learning goes far beyond the classroom. Our Home Education Groups are built around a simple ethos: giving children and young people the freedom to explore, discover new skills, build confidence and develop meaningful connections through outdoor experiences.

Set within the beautiful natural surroundings of Betteshanger Park, our sessions offer a welcoming, supportive environment where home-educated children can learn through adventure, practical activities and hands-on experiences.

We recognise that every child learns differently. Our approach encourages curiosity, independence, creativity and resilience, allowing young people to challenge themselves, try something new and develop at their own pace. Just as importantly, our groups provide valuable opportunities to make friends, work together, develop social skills and feel part of a wider home education community.

Home Education Archery Club | Ages 8–16

Take aim, build confidence and discover a new skill at our weekly Home Education Archery Club!

Led by our Archery GB qualified instructors, these engaging 90-minute sessions introduce young people to the exciting world of archery in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.

Participants will become familiar with the archery range and essential safety practices before learning the correct techniques for shooting a recurve bow. With plenty of time on the shooting line to practise and develop their skills, children can progress at their own pace, building focus, coordination, patience and confidence along the way.

Our sessions also offer opportunities to watch, encourage and socialise with other home-educated young people, making the club as much about friendship and community as it is about learning archery.

With a maximum group size of 12, the club provides an enjoyable, sociable setting for beginners and those looking to improve their skills.
